Rain Glass, a lightbox of wet afternoons

You sit by the glass. The street goes soft.

Rain Glass keeps the drops on the window crisp and lets the world behind them go quiet, cool and muted. You apply it with one tap in the free Lightroom app on iPhone and Android, or in Lightroom Classic.

For moody atmosphere and window-seat creators who shoot the weather from the inside.

You are on the dry side of the glass. Each preset here gives the water on the pane its texture, then takes the scene beyond it down: saturation out, the blue band set low, the frame cooled, so shape survives and colour does not compete. Rain Bead is where you start, every drop given an edge and the street behind it left soft.

Drops follow the water. Runnel and Drop Trail raise texture on the track a drop leaves. Rain Streak gives long streaks their surface. Downpour Glass holds the whole window low-key while the beads come forward. Sill Pool finds the water gathered at the bottom of the frame. Panes are about the glass: Wet Pane and Condensation take dehaze negative so the bloom stays, Fogged Pane sets the midtones down until the fog reads heavy, Wiper Sweep keeps the film the blade left, Grey Pane lets the weather do the talking.

After dark, you keep the lights. Night Pane holds the glow through the drops off the ceiling and lifts the toe so the dark stays open. Streetlight Bloom raises the orange band so one lamp carries. Bokeh Rain contains the bright cores behind a wet pane. Cab Window darkens the frame and cools the exterior, so the inside feels sheltered.

You apply one, then you look again. The drops are still yours to sharpen or soften.

Why I Make These

I am Netzah Elad Topaz. I take photographs and I build software, and the two keep leading me back to the same problem. You were there. The light was doing something you will not see again. Then the photo comes back flat, and it is not what you were looking at.

Closing that gap is the whole job. Every preset here is built from Adobe defaults by hand, with a written note for what it should do to a picture, and it is judged on real photographs before it ships. Nothing is a filter dropped on top of your work.

What I want is simple. You open a photo you almost gave up on, you tap once, and there it is: the day you remember, not the file your camera handed you. That is worth doing properly.

questions

Asked and Answered

I shot the rain from outside. Does it still work?

Yes, as a cool muted grade with texture raised on wet surfaces. The presets were built for glass in the foreground, so on an open street the effect is gentler and the frame simply reads colder and quieter.

Do the drops need to be in focus?

They need to be sharper than what is behind them. Focus on the glass, let the scene fall off, and the texture moves have something to hold.

Do these work in the free Lightroom app?

Yes. Import the .xmp files in the free Lightroom app on iPhone or Android, no subscription needed. They also work in Lightroom Classic and Lightroom on desktop.

What exactly do I get?

All 18 presets from Rain Glass as .xmp files in an instant ZIP download. The link also lands in your email, and the purchase stays in your account so you can re-download any time.

How do I install them?

Two minutes: unzip, then import inside Lightroom. The step-by-step guide covers iPhone, Android, and desktop.

Can I use them for client work?

Yes. The single-user license covers personal and commercial photography. The one thing you can't do is share or resell the preset files themselves.

Can I tweak a preset after applying it?

Always. A preset is a starting point; every slider stays yours to adjust.

What if it's not for me?
